This Chick Read: Rock Chick Reawakening (Rock Chick 0.5) by Kristen Ashley

Some spoilers ahead!!

The Rock Chick series is one of my favorite  Kristen Ashley series, and it’s about time Daisy and Marcus had their own story! Daisy has been one of my favorite Rock Chicks, with Hector and Sadie’s story really giving us a little bit more of her back story than we had been given previously. In Rock Chick Regret, we learn through Sadie’s rape and beating about Daisy having survived that same situation with Marcus’s help. Rock Chick Reawakening is the story of the courtship of Daisy by Marcus. A courtship that begins for Marcus before Daisy’s rape, but for Daisy, it starts after.
We know Daisy as the flamboyant ex-stripper with the tinker bell laugh. We learn that she’s also a lady who has had some hard knocks in her young life. A woman who is a stripper who loves her bedazzler,  but she also always has a kind word for others and brightens up the room with her tinker bell laugh.

Marcus see’s her inner beauty and knows she is the one for him. He is destroyed when she is raped before he has decided to make an advance in her direction. His protection coming too late, but his patience in dealing with her demons after that incident shows his inner beauty, even though he is a mob boss. That is something I’ll credit Kristen Ashley with doing so well in her novels. Sometimes her men fall on the other side of the law and she doesn’t make excuses for them or try to paint what they do in a nice light. However, she does allow you to make that choice of seeing their inner goodness, even if sometimes they make rotten business decisions and kill people.

Marcus has always been so mysterious that even though this book was still more about Daisy, it was great to see why her star shone so bright for him. If you’re a fan of this series, you definitely need to read Rock Chick Reawakening! ❤❤❤❤❣
