Reading a Susanna Kearsley novel reminds me a bit of watching a period piece movie like Sense and Sensibility, or Two Rooms with a view. At first I am sitting beside myself, my brain still turning about what happened at work that day, or a conversation I had with my husband over breakfast, but after a few moments, the descriptions of the city, the dialogue between characters, inserts itself into my mind until I am living it with them. This Chick Read: The Guardians Trilogy or Cousins O’Dwyer?
Is it just me, or does Nora Roberts new novel Stars of Fortune: Book one of the Guardians Trilogy seem very similar to her Cousins O’Dwyer Trilogy? In Stars of Fortune, the six protagonists are strangers who “find” each other in Greece, where we find out, each of them are looking for the same ancient relic. This is, of course, a love story, Continue reading “This Chick Read: The Guardians Trilogy or Cousins O’Dwyer?”
This Chick Read: I want to be Cormoran Strike’s girl Friday!

The memories I do remember really well involve books. Continue reading “This Chick Read: Books as memories”
This Chick Read: Who doesn’t want to be a Rock Chick? Or any Kristen Ashley character…
Although, if you’re a Rock Chick you have to be kidnapped, shot at, held hostage, kidnapped again, and possibly raped. BUT! You get to be a part of the greatest group of female friends ever. I read Kristen Ashley’s Rock Chick series first out of all of her books, which is the correct thing to do because almost all of the rest of her series reference these characters Continue reading “This Chick Read: Who doesn’t want to be a Rock Chick? Or any Kristen Ashley character…”
This Chick Read: My first book on the blog
I typically only read a book if I think it’s not too serious, won’t give me nightmares, and has a little action. I read a little bit of everything, though lean more towards romance than any other genre. I blame my older sister for starting my romance addiction at the relatively young age of 16. I went to visit her at college and would stay up until 2 am reading Silhouette romances. Continue reading “This Chick Read: My first book on the blog”
