Happy Monday everyone! I ran across this post on Book Date and liked the idea of sharing what I’m currently reading, so here goes!
JUST FINISHED
Alpha’s Promise (Dark Protector’s #10) by Rebecca Zanetti

First Sentence Read: “Across the windy cemetery, beyond the rows of gravestones, a man leaned against a pine tree and watched her.”
JUST STARTED
Every Last Breath (Final Hour #1) by Juno Rushdan

First Sentence Read: “No need to waste a bullet.”
I was disappointed in Zanetti’s novel so I picked up this new-ish Juno Rushdan novel. It’s a romantic thriller and started out F-A-S-T. I’m enjoying it so far! I have to admit, that first sentence is kind of dull though…
A new week means a new book! What are you reading this week?
Have a great week reading!

I love Jennifer Weiner but this disappointed me . She brings up a bunch of weighty topics, but doesn’t really follow through on any of them. It’s also a time lapse book of sorts, where she’ll jump years, but it’s more of a device to make up for ridiculous plotlines

Sometimes I really hate flashbacks especially if they don’t help move the plot forward… pick a great book for your next read! Daisy Jones and the Six was fabulous have your read it yet?

I’m in a rut. I don’t know what to pick up next. I need to get it done asap because I’m getting antsy.

If you like general fiction, I loved Daisy Jones and the Six! Romance? Anything by Penny Reid and Mariana Zapata! Fantasy? Ilona Andrews Innkeeper series is fab!

Thanks for the recommendation. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything by Penny Reid or Mariana Zapata.

Reid books are romantic comedies and Mariana Zapata’s are slow burn novels. For main stream Daisy Jones and the Six was amazing!

It’s no longer Monday (it’s Friday lo) but I am listening to Challenger Deep by Neil Shusterman and reading an ARC called “The Twelve” which is a MG fantasy coming out in July 🙂
