It’s Monday, what are you reading? (10/19/2020)

I love fall! The weather has finally gotten a little bit cooler and you can feel that winter is not too far off. It was a weekend that felt somewhat normal running errands, shopping at the store, and hunkering down to read. I finished a book that I’d been reading all week and have started the next on my list. I’m still not reading anything too serious because my mind just isn’t into the struggle of focusing and retaining something more strenuous. Is anyone else still having this problem? It’s frustrating! Anyhow, here’s the lowdown.

This post originated over on Book Date, so thanks for the idea and letting me continue on the discussion about what books I am reading.

JUST FINISHED

A very cute romance set around the food truck scene. I liked the characters a lot and the food sounded delish!

JUST STARTED

I’ve loved the previous novels in this series and am excited to have gotten an ARC for this one! It comes out this week so I need to get a move on!

Tell me, what books have you read or are you reading this week? A cozy mystery? A classic novel? Or are you curled up with an old favorite?

    Hi Deb,

I like fall, too. I miss the long days of summer, but I like the cooler temperatures.
I just finished my first Louise Penny mystery, and I really enjoyed it. I don’t often read mysteries. Still Life was packed with well-drawn characters milling about a beautiful setting in Quebec. I didn’t try too hard to figure out who did it – there were a lot of suspects! I’m now reading William Kent Krueger’s This Tender Land. It’s good – but I liked Ordinary Grace much better.

  2. I’m still working on Mariana Zapata’s books. I had several but hadn’t read them. I listened on Audible to Dear Aaron, To Lukov with Love, and Luna and the Lie while I read them. I got hung up on Aaron because the style at the start was so different. I loved it by the time I finished listening to it.

    1. I LOVE Mariana Zapata. Luna was out of her normal realm. I think the authors grandmother had died and she was working through some sadness. That’s speculation on my end but it was so different than normal! The sports themed books are my favorite. I did love Lukov! I also like how all of the characters are intertwined. Glad to hear from you Donna! Sorry it took me a week to respond, for some reason I didn’t see your comment.
