This Chicks Sunday Commentary: Sept’19 Wrap Up!

September was a fabulous month for reading! I had quite a few commitments for reviews which pushed my reading up a bit to 16 books for the month. Thankfully, I’ve committed myself to less books for October, so I’ll be able to slow things down a bit and actually read a few books that have been sitting on my TBR instead of new releases. Well, honestly it will probably be a little bit of both!

SEPTEMBER- BEST READS!

I love a great historical romance, and this was one of the best I’ve read in awhile. My review is upcoming, but if you have room on your TBR, take my word for it, it’s worth the time!

“If you are looking for a book where you can laugh and also be touched by the emotion in the characters you are reading- 10 Blind Dates is the book you need to pick up. I think it’s a departure from Ashley’s Elston’s normal genre as it is a true YA contemporary novel with a hint of romance, yet the emotions run deep. “

I LOVED this novel! I have read so many Pride and Prejudice re-takes and sometimes they just don’t do the original justice. Ayesha at Last was just different enough that it wasn’t in your face and you could get lost in the story, and what a great story it was! My review will be published soon.

THIS CHICKS SUNDAY COMMENTARY

My husband and I went on vacation in August and my August’19 Wrap Up post has some great pictures of our vacation to New York City and Maine. Check in out of if you missed it.

I also took a look at the books I was most interested in reading in October that were being released.

MY MOST ANTICIPATED OCT’19 RELEASES

I was so fortunate to be able to interview one of my favorite romance author’s, Katie Ruggle. She has such an interesting background and writes that diverse into her characters storylines. She was also super funny!

WHAT’S ON TAP FOR OCTOBER

On a personal level, I gave notice at my job and will be starting a new one the last week of October. I’m really excited! So, my focus will be on finishing up my current job well and so I’m going to not put any pressure on myself to push out more blog posts than I’m comfortable doing. I’m also going to focus on reading a couple of books for pleasure.

Which books are next on my list?

Have any of you read these books?

What books are you looking forward to reading this month?

Until next Sunday!

Deb

  1. Good luck with the new job. How exciting! Like you, I love Ayesha. I thought she was a fantastic character. I listened to Parental Guidance last week. I found it a lot of fun, and I LOVED the ending.
